During the years of the harsh blockade policy the Gaza strip, economy has in fact been in recession, resulting in a marked decrease in production. Some improvement can be seen after 2010 as the blockade restrictions were somewhat eased, but the production is still on a very low level with income equal to less than 3 dollars a day (compared to 2004 money value) for an average citizen. This results in the area becoming yet more dependent on relief aid.
